This article explains how to upload content to home.uchicago.edu using Cyberduck.

This step-by-step tutorial assumes you are using Cyberduck, an STFP client for Mac OS X.

Getting connected to webspace.uchicago.edu

  1. Go to Macintosh HD > Applications > Cyberduck.
  2. Click Open Connection
  3. Select SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)
  4. Fill in the information below
    • Server: webspace.uchicago.edu
    • Username: CNetID
    • Port: 22
  5. Click Bookmark > New Bookmark and save this new connection for future use.

Uploading content to webspace.uchicago.edu

  1. Go to Macintosh HD > Applications > Cyberduck.
  2. Click on the webspace.uchicago.edu Bookmark.
  3. Note: You will be prompted for your password.
  4. Double-click on the folder named public_html.
  5. To copy content to your webspace.uchicago.edu webspace, simply drag and drop files to public_html.
    • Please avoid spaces and punctuation other than . - _ in filenames.
  6. To test the file that was just uploaded, open up a web browser and go to http://home.uchicago.edu/~cnetid/filename
    • Note: The filename is case sensitive.
